The friends and members of the Renfrew Legion all have a huge smile on their face thanks to one sweet holiday treat.
Local Tim Hortons franchise owner Richard Dean says their Holiday Smile Cookie campaign was a sweeping success for both the Legion and Tim’s Camp, outdoing last year’s totals despite losing most of the functional capability of their O’Brien Road location to renovations just as things got underway last week.
Dean adds that raising $18,000 while doing most of their business out of their Stewart Street storefront would not have been possible without the Legion actively stumping for the cause as they pushed to help cover some unexpected expenses like a brand new furnace for the branch office.
He also points out that none of their goodwill efforts would be successful without his team, who accomplished an amazing result despite a daunting amount of business all gathering in one spot for over a week.
Dean says customers can expect more opportunities to help great local causes as they reintroduce their Special Olympics doughnut at both local locations in February.
