Whitewater Region council has approved an action plan to mark the township’s 25th anniversary in 2026.
Formed in 2001 through the amalgamation of four former municipalities, the township plans to launch a logo contest, invite local groups to link events to the milestone and produce a tourism video series.
Also in 2026, Whitewater Region departments will spotlight their work through a series of “staffing showcases,” while all municipal facilities plan to hold open houses and “Touch-A-Truck” events.
Burton said the Touch-A-Truck feature will display a range of municipal vehicles and equipment, giving residents a chance to see them up close, ask questions and learn how they support day-to-day operations.
A legacy film and municipal open houses are also planned for next year.
