It won’t be long until the jolly old elf in red drops by for one of the most magical nights of the year in Renfrew.
The local Santa Claus parade is set to take off through the downtown core through Raglan Street South towards Munroe Avenue at around 5:30 pm on Saturday, December 6th, and parade organizer Janyne Fraser says anyone with a desire to join the procession should get in touch as soon as possible before they run out of space for floats.
Renfrew’s Santa Claus Parade has been privileged to feature floats from community organizations, nonprofit groups, and top local representatives over the years, all with a wide range of holiday themes and gimmicks.
Fraser says they’re not going to limit how people take part in the festivities with a narrow theme, as, in her experience with similar out-of-town events, people tend not to pay them much mind.
Even if you miss out on being part of the main event of the evening, Fraser says all you have to do is reach out to her and she will gladly find a way for you to keep spirits bright that night.
Fraser is also happy to help groups who need a hand making the most of their floats thanks to several strands of functioning Christmas lights gathered by the town’s new Employee Engagement Team, which people can pick up by contacting Town Hall.
