The blanket of silence over COP30 in Brazil is bookended by initiatives from the local CimateMatters group.
Tomorrow at 11:15AM, weather permitting, there will be a walk through downtown Pembroke as participants ringing bells of hope for all lives on our planet, including the water, earth, air, & forests. The ClimateMatters protestors will share the group’s new brochure: “From Global to Local: Climate Action YOU Can Do.”
Then, from Noon to 2PM the assembly will reconvene at Calvin United Church, Lower Hall for a potluck and social gathering/ sing-along.
There will be a group discussion on the outcomes of COP30, mirrored by conversations on the effectiveness of local politicians in addressing the climate crisis.
Bring YOURSELF, friends & family.
