Picking up a tasty treat this week could move the needle for a community institution in need of a helping hand.
Tim Horton’s Holiday Smile Cookie campaign continues in Renfrew from now until November 23rd, with half the sales going towards the Renfrew Legion, which franchise owner Richard Dean notes is struggling financially as funds raised by their signature poppy campaign can only be used in very limited circumstances.
Dean says he and the Legion have been working closely on the project in the lead-up to Monday’s kick-off, tapping into some community muscle to prepare as many of the trademark sugar cookies as possible ahead of what will be a busy week.
The campaign comes at an odd time for Renfrew’s two Tim Hortons locations, as this week also marks the start of a major month-long renovation at their O’Brien Road location, but Dean says they are still willing to aim high as they keep an important community hub alive in the downtown core.
Pre-order and bulk order forms are now available at either Tim’s location or the Renfrew Legion Branch Office.
