Today the County of Renfrew announced Admaston/Bromley Mayor Michael Donohue and Bonnechere Valley Mayor Jennifer Murphy have both been nominated for the 2026 Warden position.
The Warden acts as the head of County council and to be eligible to run for the position both Donohue and Murphy were nominated by at least two other council members.
Nominations closed today at noon.
A ballot vote by County councillors will take place on Dec. 10, during the Inaugural Session of County Council to decide who will assume Warden’s title.
The County said in a press release this would be the second consecutive year that an election will be held for the Warden position.
