The man in charge of tending to Renfrew’s past says wartime efforts will be a part of a shift to modern-day storytelling.
McDougall Mill Museum curator Glenn Charron continues to work with Bloomberg Connects to create virtual exhibits that will allow people curious about the town’s past online access to the museum’s discoveries and notes that their collection of military relics will have a significant presence.
Charron explains that the museum does get a lot of interest about their military collection, including from a number of veterans who learn about certain items being held at the Arthur Avenue location that tie into their past lives.
It shouldn’t be surprising how high of an importance the town’s military roots play into the museum’s virtual plans considering the county’s ongoing ties with the armed forces, and Charron adds that the topic is also one he’s had some past experience with.
Work on the Bloomberg Connects project is expected to continue into the new year, with Charron currently working with community members to help fill the gaps in the recorded stories centred around the most fascinating pieces at the museum.
