No matter how you enjoy Renfrew County’s winding trail system, be sure you are doing it safely.
Constable Mike Mahon with the Upper Ottawa Valley OPP is working with county staff to help answer a growing number of questions about rules along the Algonquin and K&P Trails, starting with the fact that there is, in fact, a need to mind your speed during your trip.
The two trails, which connect Mattawa to Smiths Falls and Renfrew to Kingston, respectively, over a combined 380 kilometres, connect through countless local roads and communities, which Constable Mahon says requires users to have their documents in order.
He followed that by also reminding riders heading onto the trails that the single most important part of riding safely is all about your protective equipment.
ATV season will continue until the end of November, with snowmobile season running from December until the end of April.
