Renfrew’s minor hockey players will benefit from a growing connection with an organization on the opposite side of Southern Ontario.
Sarnia Sting general manager Dylan Seca says the OHL club will take advantage of time off between games in Ottawa and Kingston to visit the myFM Centre this Saturday, November 15th, as the team treats members with the Renfrew Minor Hockey Association to a watch their off-day practice under the eye of head coach and Renfrew native Alan Letang.
Seca notes that the Sting’s link with Renfrew now extends beyond Letang, as Ottawa area scout Nathan Hisko teaches locally and his former student, Renfrew Wolves goaltender Kale Osipenko, was drafted by the Sting in 2024.
RMHA families are welcome to watch the Sting take the ice for drills that afternoon from 12:00 to 1:30, and Seca adds that it’s “the more, the merrier” when they set aside a few minutes after the fact to meet the public.
The Sting will not be in town for long, as they plan to make a quick stop in town to eat before hitting the road to Kingston to play the Frontenacs on Sunday.
