A nearly year-long search for the right card has landed one Renfrew resident a massive jackpot.
Patti Dillabough, the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation’s Executive Director, drew Natalie Leclaire’s winning ticket during Thursday’s Week 42 draw for their Catch the Ace lottery and was thrilled to uncover an ace of spades worth $156,791 in envelope 41.
Dillabough calls the win an exciting moment, adding that it’s always fun for her to watch someone she knows win in any capacity.
The 42-week-long session pulled in $244,805 for new equipment upgrades at the hospital and bucks a recent trend of early jackpot wins over the prior year, something Dillabough hopes the lottery will no longer have to deal with once the game picks back up in 2026.
Dillabough also thanks everyone who volunteered to help organize and run the lottery, noting that everyone has been eager to get plans underway for the next draw.
