Four candidates have been announced to run for the Director-at-large position within the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) and one them is Angela Field, a well known farmer currently residing in Admaston/Bromley.
Field is also the township’s Deputy Mayor and will retain that position until next year.
According to a description on the OFA’s website, the Director-at-Large will advocate on behalf of Ontario’s farming industry at the provincial level.
The position is a three year term, and the elected member would influence policy development and strategic planning.
The successful candidate will be elected by voting delegates in late November at the OFA’s Annual General Meeting in Toronto.
As a member of Admaston/Bromley’s council Field has experience delegating with grassroots connections and bringing their discussions to an authoritative body.
She is also a big advocate for women in agriculture, constantly promoting education and support for women in the farming business.
