UPDATE: Hydro One is working quickly to deal remaining outages across the Ottawa Valley as more communities wake up to working lights.
Crews with the power company have removed a tree from a power line supplying electricity to Pembroke after several hours of overnight delays kept most of the city in a blackout starting late Sunday evening into Monday morning.
Meanwhile, Hydro One has also restored a major outage that affected thousands of customers between Pembroke, Cobden, Lake Clear, and other rural communities outside Killaloe and Renfrew, with a few hundred homes still without power until an estimated 9:00 am in Laurentian Valley, and as late as 4:00 pm around Eganville and Dacre.

Hydro One and local power crews are responding as the City of Pembroke joins thousands in the rural Ottawa Valley without power.
The Ottawa River Power Company says strong winds on Sunday evening may have played a part in this morning’s power outage as Hydro One continues to remove a tree from a local line supplying power to the town. Their latest estimated time for recovery was 5;30 am Monday morning, but that could be subject to further delays.
Meanwhile, Hydro One is also reporting that over 2,900 customers are currently without power between Pembroke, Cobden, Eganville, Lake Clear, and communities just outside of both Renfrew and Killaloe.
Teams have been sent out to assess the various blackouts, with estimated times for restoration between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm today.
