Renfrew’s Jr. A Wolves are tickled pink with how well their weekend went, and it wasn’t just the colour of their jerseys.
The Wolves took care of business during Saturday’s Pink the Rink night at the myFM Centre, rolling to a 6-1 win over the Carleton Place Canadians while raising funds for the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation.
RVH Foundation Executive Director Patti Dillabough and CCHL Commissioner Jesse Winchester joined the team in welcoming Sarah, a beloved RCI teacher and hockey mom courageously fighting breast cancer, to ice-level for a special ceremonial puck drop before action got underway.
The community was also active off the ice that evening, as fans supported the hospital’s Oncology Department through merch sales, donations, and the start of bidding on the club’s game-worn pink jerseys, while their friends from the Renfrew Minor Hockey Association helped with the weekend’s 50/50 lottery and Chuck-a-Puck competition.
Bidding on the limited edition jerseys will continue until November 2nd.
