Ongoing strike action at Canada Post has Shawville hedging its bets when it comes to the upcoming election.
The municipality is warning residents that the strike has left them unable to send out their voters list for Shawville town council and for the role of warden within the MRC Pontiac.
Shawville residents who want to be added or removed from the voters list, or who want to make a correction, will be able to do so at the local municipal office, 350 Rue Main, from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm on Tuesday, October 14th, and from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, October 15th.
To apply for entry, residents will need to provide a document showing their names and dates of birth, as well as one showing their name and residential address. Meanwhile, those applying to register another person will also need to provide that person’s previous address.
Anyone unsure about their voting status can contact town hall during open hours at 819-647-2979.
