Thanks to the compassionate community fundraising for the 96 Hearts campaign has exceeded its goal.
Initially, myFM was seeking 96 hockey heroes to donate $96 dollars toward a fund to help out youth who can’t afford to play sports in partnership with the Renfrew Minor Hockey Association (RMHA).
As of today myFM has received 120 donations, and myFM general manager Bob Dillabough is staggered by the result.
In fact the donors have been so generous that myFM is extending the donation period giving anyone who hasn’t donated yet an opportunity to do so.
Some amazing individuals have donated, but organizations have made big contributions as well such as the Renfrew Millionaires Hockey Club and Renfrew’s Rusty Blades who each made 10 donations.
These contributions are working towards one common goal; getting kids on the ice.
Anyone who has already donated is welcome to join fellow donors at a barbecue lunch located at Gourley’s Outdoors on Hwy. 132 today from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and potential donors will have a chance to make a contribution there as well.
For the hockey heroes that can’t make it to the outing donations can still be made online.
