Community Safety Net™ is a Child Safety Education Initiative, operating in the United States and Canada.
It provides Educational resources on activities involving children, to help keep kids safe in the spheres of Drug Safety, Personal Safety and Rural Safety.
It is active in Arnprior, through a collaboration with the Arnprior Fire Department providing Fire Safety materials.
At the Municipal meeting of September 22nd, Arnprior Fire Chief Rick Desarmia spoke to the initiative, and acknowledged the local sponsors who make program delivery possible.
Materials include books, videos, and interactive content.
Desarmia says anything that can be done to reduce the danger of home fires is action worth doing.
Community Safety Net works with schools, parents, community leaders, and local businesses to build a “network of safety” around children. It’s mission statement is: Protecting kids for LIFE.
The Arnprior Fire Chief says this year’s target audience for the materials were kids in third grade.
Desarmia says there was widespread local support to assist in getting the Community Safety Net materials out there.
Specifically, the Chief sends a shout out to:
And an acknowledgment to Captain Chris Crowder for coordinating the initiative locally.
