The changing colours mean that it’s time for Renfrew residents to consider tidying up the yard ahead of winter.
Town staff have opened up the first of three weeks for curbside pickups for leaf and yard waste, starting at 7:00 am this Tuesday, October 7th.
Residents with yard waste can leave it on the curb in biodegradable paper bags or bound bundles no bigger than 5 feet long or 2 feet in diameter, either of which cannot weigh more than 50 pounds. Unbundled waste will not be collected, and anything put out after 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday is not guaranteed to be collected, either.
Yard waste will also be collected on the weeks of October 20th and November 10th, and residents can also drop off leaves and grass clippings at the Bruce Street landfill for no charge all year round.
The town has an FAQ on yard waste and collection guidelines on their website.
