Last night the Valley’s very own Kaden McGregor made his Ontario Hockey League debut with the Peterborough Petes.
Thursday’s game against the Erie Otters was hosted at the Peterborough Memorial Centre drawing in a crowd of over 3,600.
McGregor, the 16 year old center, had to sit out for four regular season games due to injury, however he still used that downtime wisely.
With that knowledge he gathered, McGregor was eager to put what he learned onto the ice in his first ever OHL game.
Despite high spirits, the Petes took a tough loss going into an overtime shootout when the Otters squeaked by winning 3-2.
The Peterborough Petes put up a strong effort, lighting up the Otters’ goaltender Noah Erliden with 45 shots.
Even though his first game was a loss McGregor is settling in with the team and area quite comfortably.
Next up McGregor and the Petes are on the road to face off against the Brantford Bulldogs tonight at 7 p.m.
