The ongoing strike at Canada Post doesn’t mean bills can go unpaid.
The County of Renfrew is reminding the clients from across the 17 incorporated municipalities and third-party vendors that the labour dispute could lead to delays in and disruptions for receiving notices and making payments for services through Ontario Works and matters handled by the Provincial Offences Court.
Ontario Works clients will not get cheques through the mail during the strike and will need to contact their caseworker to arrange pickup. Direct deposit and reloadable payment card payments will not be impacted, but clients might experience a delay in receiving letters and payment statements.
Meanwhile, electronic and in-person options will still be available for making payments or corresponding with the court. Anyone who needs assistance can call the court’s administration directly at 613-735-3482.
The county notes that they will provide updates as the labour dispute continues.
