
A store on O’Brien Road was robbed yesterday afternoon.
OPP said at approximately 3:45 p.m. officers with the Renfrew detachment responded to a reported robbery.
They said a man had entered a convenience store by Eighth Street and he assaulted an employee and fled the scene with stolen goods.
He reportedly returned to his crime scene, only to once again flee but officers located the man nearby and arrested him.
The 46-year-old from Horton was found with a knife and the stolen property.
He was charged with:
•Robbery with violence
•Assault – two counts
•Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
•Unauthorized possession of a weapon
•Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order – seven counts
•Failure to comply with an undertaking
•Fail to comply with a probation order – two counts
The accused was held in custody and was scheduled to appear for a bail hearing today.
