The Renfrew Wolves are set to split a pair of weekend road games with a different kind of trip in support of local minor hockey.
Club General Manager Jarrett DeFazio says Wolves fans can play alongside the players at their upcoming golf tournament at Dragonfly Golf Links on Saturday, October 4th, an idea for a day out in between on-ice action that came from the family of one of the team’s veteran core.
The community can create their own quartets or sign up as a trio and be joined by a Wolves player for the day, with a portion of the $100 per golfer fee going right back into supporting the Renfrew Minor Hockey Association and its programming.
DeFazio says everything is ready to go, but there’s just one thing missing.
He adds that it’s not only a day to give back to the next generation of local hockey talent but also a chance to introduce new players and reacquaint returning players to the community, continuing their mission to continue establishing the team within Renfrew as they enter their fifth official season as the Wolves.
On top of nine holes of golf, players will get to enjoy a barbeque lunch, a silent auction, and a chance to win prizes on the course. Registration can be done online.
