Police in the Renfrew area have connected the dots between a pair of cases that boiled down to a single suspect.
The Renfrew OPP were sent to Horton on Wednesday, September 10th, after reports of an abandoned vehicle within the township. As a result of their ongoing investigation, 48-year-old Jason Linden of Ottawa was arrested and charged for possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
Linden would come under scrutiny a week later on September 17th, when the OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit arrested him after their officers pulled his car over in Renfrew as part of a traffic stop.
An investigation led to a slew of further charges for Linden, including:
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance—cocaine
- Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order
The accused has since been held for bail.
