The Renfrew County District School Board opened National Truth and Reconciliation Week with an Every Child Matters flag-raising ceremony Monday morning.
The week serves as a time to reflect on the legacy of residential schools and the ongoing challenges faced by Indigenous Peoples. The board emphasized its commitment to honouring Indigenous resilience and advancing the work of reconciliation.
“This is more than a symbolic gesture,” the board noted. “It is a call to action—to listen, learn, and advocate for a more just and inclusive future for all.”
