New fencing and buoys set up along the Golden Lake dam (Renfrew Power Generation photo)
People making use of the waters along Golden Lake have been given another notice of upcoming change.
Renfrew Power Generation and the Golden Lake Property Owner’s Association have made a joint statement reminding everyone thinking of using the water or nearby banks, especially those with watercrafts, that the gradual lowering of water levels along the lake will begin on October 14th.
They explain that the drawdown is necessary to protect nearby properties from potential high water levels during the spring thaw.
Both groups want anyone thinking about making recreational plans along Golden Lake to familiarize themselves with the change in water levels and to avoid areas that might become unsafe for boating, ice fishing, or snowmobiling over the coming autumn and winter seasons.
Renfrew Power Generation has information on recent water levels and frequently asked questions available on their website.
