The month of October is going to see more hockey than just the current crop of Pembroke Lumber Kings can provide as the 1st ever “Jamie Bramburger Fall Classic” is coming to the Pembroke Memorial Centre on October 25th.
Held in support of The Grind and The Jamie Bramburger Memorial Fund the game will feature Lumber Kings Alumni going head to head with Team Algonquin College with a couple of big names once again gracing The PMC in support. Among them is former Lumber King and NHLer PJ Stock.
P.J. Stock began his career with the Pembroke Lumber Kings in Tier II junior A before advancing to the QMJHL and later the NHL, where he suited up for the New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers, and Boston Bruins. Former Ottawa Senator Marc Methot will also be in the building lending his hockey talents to the cause behind the bench for the Algonquin Team.
Principal organizer Gerry Novak from The Grind and dear friend of Bramburger tells myFM how the idea for the game came about:
Wife of the late Jamie Bramburger was on hand for the announcement of the game and she said that she knows that Jamie would have been thrilled to have been a part of the day and that she is touched that the community continues to honour the memory of a man who gave so much to Pembroke and the local hockey world.
The game takes place at The PMC on Saturday October, 25th at 7PM. Tickets are $15.00 General Admission, $10.00 for students, and free for children 12 and under. Tickets are available online from Eventbrite.
