The patience of Ottawa’s Bernard Potvin has led to a tidy sum of cash won through the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation.
Catch the Ace has returned to the Barry’s Bay hospital, and Potvin has brought home week one’s $1,094 prize after revealing the eight of diamonds in envelope 24, a number that lines up with both his mother’s birthday and connects to his work at the local Beer Store.
Potvin, who has played Catch the Ace regularly through the lottery’s website, says the prize money will go towards a new set of tires for his car.
Meanwhile, other potential winners will get their chance to claim the estimated weekly prize of $1,000 or the $4,141 progressive jackpot during their week 2 draw this Thursday, September 25th.
McRae Lumber will also be sweetening the pot for the next month by matching the proceeds from each $5 ticket sold, having already donated $2,735 towards the cause.
