Hopeful candidates looking to lead Shawville into the future can now officially throw their hat into the ring.
The municipality has officially declared that residents will head to the polls on Sunday, November 2nd, and is now accepting nominations for the role of mayor and the six available councillor seats until Friday, October 3rd.
Potential candidates can hand in the required paperwork to Returning Officer Crystal Webb or Election Clerk Darleen Young, who are operating out of Shawville’s municipal office, 350 Main Street.
Once all the nominations are confirmed, voters will get the chance to cast their ballots at Dr. S.E. McDowell School, 89 Centre Street, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm on November 2nd. Advance polls will also be available from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on October 26th.
