Renfrew Collegiate Institute did not have to wait long to take home their first trophy of the school year.
The school’s senior girls basketball team is celebrating their Naismith Cup win on Tuesday, September 16th, after beating the Almonte Thunderbolts, 56-39.
The Raiders defended home court on the back of a massive game from Payton Church, who put up 32 points and 5 rebounds, while Marikie deVries and Keira Barter each pitched in 8 points, 2 assists, and 2 rebounds.
The win marks the first-ever Naismith Cup victory for RCI.
