Aspiring civic leaders in Horton can plunge into municipal politics thanks to a new vacancy.
The township is looking to add a new councillor to their roster, filling a currently empty chair in council chambers until the current term wraps up next year.
Qualified candidates must be Canadian citizens who are at least 18 years of age and either a resident of Horton Township, the owner or tenant of land in the municipality, or their spouse. They must also not be prohibited from voting or from holding municipal office.
Completed applications will be accepted by the township clerk or a designate in person, alongside identification and a signed declaration and personal statement of qualifications, by 2:00 pm on Friday, September 26th.
Anyone with questions about the vacancy can contact Horton CAO and Clerk Hope Dillabough by calling (613)-432-6271 or by email.
