New fencing and buoys set up along the Golden Lake dam (Renfrew Power Generation photo)
Plans along local waterways will create a few wrinkles for residents as the summer wraps up in Renfrew County.
Renfrew Power Generation and the Lake Clear Property Owners Association have given notice to people using the water and nearby banks along Lake Clear that water levels will begin to be gradually lowered beginning on October 1st in anticipation of high water levels during next year’s spring thaw.
Lake users are asked to familiarize themselves with the changes ahead of making plans in the area and to avoid areas that may be unsafe for boating, ice-fishing, and snowmobiling as water levels decline.
Meanwhile, RPG has also installed new fencing and safety buoys around their Golden Lake dam, as the power company notes that unauthorized presence on the dam structure will be considered trespassing.
