It wouldn’t be the Renfrew Fair without stopping at the big blue shack at the fairgrounds for bacon-on-a-bun.
While guests continue to enjoy the thrilling midway, live entertainment inside the Armouries, and the agricultural spectacles at the livestock pens and the 4-H building, the Renfrew Rotary Club will be lighting up the weekend with what they call a sizzling tradition that shows off the spirit of the community.
Fairgoers can sink their teeth into the fan-favourite back bacon sandwich all weekend long in support of Teachers Against Poverty, who will also be on hand this Saturday to connect with the community and share information about the work they do benefiting local students in need.
The Rotary Club says they are deeply honoured to celebrate with the rest of the town as part of a time-tested tradition, as money from the fundraiser has contributed to a number of local priorities, building playgrounds, funding youth exchanges, and awarding post-secondary scholarships, among others.
Bacon-on-a-bun is $7 with cheese or $6.50 without, and gluten-free options are available.
