A local fire department is touting a major partnership that is set to make safety at home a top priority.
The Douglas Fire Department is one of 17 departments across Ontario selected to work with the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council and Kidde Canada on their Cause for Alarm initiative that will hand out 72 free smoke alarms to the community.
Cause for Alarm provides families with resources to teach kids how to prepare a fire safety toolkit and escape plan for their homes, as well as important information about how smoke and carbon monoxide alarms save lives every day.
Douglas residents are welcome to pick up their free alarm at either the local fire hall on Queen Street or at the township office on Stone Road while supplies last.
