Lynne Moore of Cobden can “find her possible” after winning the $5 million LOTTO 6/49 Classic Jackpot on June 4, 2025.
Lynne, a retired banker, has been playing the lottery with OLG for over 20 years. A loyal fan of LOTTO 6/49, she plays just twice a year, always adding ENCORE to her tickets. Now, the married mother of two and grandmother of four is delighted to share the story of her first big win.
“A week after buying this ticket, I was cleaning my house and noticed it sitting there on the table,” Lynne recounted, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect her winnings. “I said to myself, ‘Let me check this before I throw it out.’”
Lynne grabbed her tablet and began matching her ticket to the winning numbers, one by one. “When I realized I’d matched all six numbers, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me!” she recalled with a chuckle. “I felt puzzled, and so many thoughts raced through my mind. I thought, ‘This can’t be real! Is my tablet working right?’ It was a lot to process!”
Filled with excitement, Lynne shared the news with her husband and children. “At first, they didn’t believe me and laughed. They thought I was messing with them!”
It was roughly a month before Lynne had her prize claim appointment at the OLG Prize Centre. “I was eager and anxious, so it was a long month for me, but the time has finally come, and I now feel at ease,” she said with a smile.
With family at the forefront, Lynne outlined some thoughtful plans for her newfound fortune. “I will give my children money to buy houses and save for my grandkids’ education,” she explained. “I also plan to renovate my home and invest a portion of my winnings.”
