Renfrew Collegiate Institute (RCI) is giving their best farewells to established faculty Jeff Barber.
Barber taught history, world religions and civics and is known particularly for his lesson on the Canadian Senate.
In 2005 Barber coached the senior girls volleyball team to compete at the highest provincial level; The Ontario Federation of School Athletics Association (OFSAA).
He was also a founding executive member of RCI’s Relay for Life campaign.
Not stopping there, Barber was also local president for the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) later serving as director of pensions and economic affairs for the OSSTF.
With the help of his wife, there is an established scholarship in the Barber family’s name which is awarded annually at RCI’s commencement ceremony.
