One of the most storied community Fairs in The Ottawa Valley wrapped up this past weekend as the Cobden Fair opened it’s gates for the 166th time.
Magnificent weather (with a bit of rain on Saturday night) was partly responsible for the success of this years showing as crowds young and old flocked to the Fairground on Astrolabe Rd to take in the sights and sounds.
Back this year was the cattle show where some of the finest heads of beef were paraded for judge Stacy Young who has a keen eye for the kind of quality livestock indicative to The Ottawa Valley:
Although it was Stacy’s first time judging at The Fair, many years of experience tell her what to look for and what stands out amongst the rest:
Fair President Meredith Mulligan who came into the myFM studio just before the Fair opened to fill us in on what ‘s in store said she was thrilled with the turnout of her first Fair as President:
Mulligan wrapped it up by saying that it’s an honour to be at the helm of such a well received tradition as The Cobden Fair and she hopes to see many more:
See you next year!
