Renfrew County officials have been some of the busiest in Ontario as a massive workshop wraps up on Wednesday.
Warden Peter Emon has led a team of delegates through a number of meetings with top provincial brass at the Association of Municipalities of Ontario Conference in Ottawa, championing key issues over the four-day event.
Among the top priorities for the local delegation have been discussions regarding EarlyON and early childhood program funding with the Ministry of Education, as well as funding and planning required to protect regional farmland with the Minister of Agriculture, Food, and Agribusiness, Trever Jones.
Also discussed were concerns about outdated electrical grid infrastructure in rural communities with Minister of Energy and Mines Stephen Lecce and the chance to expand Learn and Stay grant eligibility for primary and advanced care paramedics with Minister of Colleges and Universities Nolan Quinn.
