Local police have confirmed that a structure fire engulfed a motel in Dacre on Tuesday night.
The Renfrew OPP report that an officer was conducting a traffic stop near Flat Road at around 6:15 pm on Tuesday, August 12th, when they were alerted to the fire.
The officer would evacuate the building as firefighters made their way to respond to the blaze.
They add that the responding fire chief has deemed the fire as “not suspicious,” noting that they would not be calling in the fire marshal to investigate the cause.
We have reached out to the Greater Madawaska Fire Department for more details.
