You’re invited to help 96.1 myFM keep families fed as we get closer to a pivotal time of year for local kids.
The myFM All Hands on Deck Food Drive returns to three locations in Renfrew and the Pontiac from 10:00am to 6:00pm this Thursday, accepting food and cash donations all day long in support of the Renfrew and District Food Bank and Bouffe Pontiac.
General Manager Bob Dillabough explains that both have a notable need to see their shelves restocked ahead of back-to-school season.
With food insecurity becoming an increasingly common issue for people living in the Ottawa Valley, Dillabough says that local food banks are being relied on more than ever.
myFM staff will be stationed with food bank staff outside the Renfrew Metro, Chris and Tanya’s No Frills, and the Giant Tiger in Shawville, ready to fill up trucks full of donations from the community, answer questions, and provide a shopping list of basic essentials that are especially needed ahead of schools opening their doors in September.
