The people leading the Downtown Renfrew BIA are hoping to see members turn out for an important discussion with town officials this Wednesday.
BIA Chair Ben Oakes has sent an appeal to the over 170 businesses within their boundaries, hoping for help as they appeal to the mayor, councillors, and staff ahead of funding for recycling pick-up at commercial properties ending on January 1st.
He calls the opportunity to speak face-to-face, hear up-to-date information directly from the source, discuss facts, and “work together toward real solutions,” but warns that the BIA can’t “expect to be heard, taken seriously, or have meaningful impact” if they end up advocating for protecting services that help local businesses thrive with a silent room behind them.
The meeting is expected to take place inside town hall at around 5:00 pm on Wednesday, August 6th.
