You may recall a story from April about a Renfrew man who had cut off his ankle bracelet monitor and fled his home after threatening a family member.
Renfrew OPP were called to investigate, and discovered the individual hiding between two neighbourhood houses.
A struggle ensued between the man, and one of the investigating officers.
Believing the man was possibly armed with a knife, a second officer immobilized him by discharging an anti-riot weapon into his chest.
The Special Investigations Unit was called in to investigate. Their analysis indicates the victim sustained no injuries from the incident, and that the police action was warranted given the circumstances.
