You’ve heard that things are “coming along well” with Arena Revitalization in Arnprior- but catching the time-lapse video on the Town’s Facebook Page is more exciting than watching paint dry!
NSC Revitalization Update: Glenn Arthur Arena Refrigeration Piping StartsGlenn Arthur Arena: The subgrade works are now complete and insulation is nearing completion. The sand under each piece of styrofoam insulation must be levelled carefully by hand with elevations checked constantly. Each joint is then taped and a second layer of styrofoam is added on top with joints going the opposite direction. Two layers of vapour barrier have been implemented to function as a "slip sheet" so the concrete slab may expand and contract without moving anything below. The main header pipe has been implemented and the refrigeration piping that runs the length of the arena is about to start. This is an exciting milestone as we are getting that much closer to the first puck drop. Bert Hall Arena: The block walls are in progress for the new mezzanine structure. The first two rooms and elevator shaft are largely complete and work along is the demising wall is progressing. The formwork for the concrete apron is now fully in place and concrete for these areas will be poured shortly. Once the main components of the mezzanine structure are in place and materials do not need to be transferred across the rink slab, reconstruction of the rink slab will begin.Go to Arnprior.ca/ArenaRevitalization to stay up to date on the project!

The current short runs just over a minute and a half, and follows the construction progress at Arena B, the Glenn Arthur Rink.
The technical lingo on how to properly place styrofoam barriers and referencing the whole thing with a level tool might make for interesting talk at your table as well.
