A new feature at Renfrew Victoria Hospital is helping those who have lost someone near to them through their personal grief.
The RVH Foundation’s Executive Director Patti Dillabough tells myFM about their new wind phone, which sits inside their vibrant healing garden as a way for families and friends of those who have passed away to say things left unsaid.
The phone doesn’t ring, and there is no dial tone, but Dillabough says the symbolism has allowed people across the world to express their feelings, share memories, and find closure.
The global movement has seen local results, with Dillabough noting that the RVH wind phone has given the grieving permission to express their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement or critique.
The hospital invites anyone mourning the loss of a loved one to make use of the wind phone and spend time reflecting in their healing garden.
