The County of Renfrew have granted $42,000 towards businesses in the Ottawa Valley.
The Starter Company Plus program, created by Enterprise Renfrew County, provides many resources for the selected entrepreneurs such as business coaching, cash flow projection development and a grant of up to $5000.
A grand total of $42,000 for business operations was granted to 11 independent businesses.
Daniel Stermac-Stein, avid hide-tanner and owner of The Herd’s Throne in Madawaska Valley, said the Starter Company Plus Trainers were “immensely helpful throughout the whole process.”
“The Starter Company Plus program guided me through the process of dreaming up the best-case scenario could be for my business,” Stermac-Stein said.
“The dream for my business is now a coherent and relatable plan I can put into action,” he said.
Enterprise Renfrew County will be hosting information sessions in September to prepare for the rollout of The Starter Company Plus Fall 2025 program.
Businesses interested in applying must attend at least one of the two information sessions to receive an application form.
The deadline for the Fall program applications is Friday, Sept. 19 at 12 p.m.
Information sessions will be held remotely on September 9 and 11 and businesses must register online to get access.
