The group looking after the health of one of the largest watersheds in the Ottawa Valley is set to meet for an important discussion next month.
The Muskrat Watershed Council’s annual general meeting is coming up on Thursday August 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Cobden Township Office and online.
Council members will look back on their efforts to engage the community for healthy land, water and quality of life for future generations on the more than 500 square kilometers of watershed they look after, and set their goals for the future.
They will also welcome in a guest speaker from the accounting firm, Baker Tilley to discuss issues involved in cottage succession, such as avoiding or reducing probate tax, how and when capital gains tax applies, and reducing or deferring capital gains tax and planning approaches to fund it.
As always, the public is more than welcome to join them at The Cobden Township Office at 44 Main Steet (back entrance) or attend virtually.
