Schools across Renfrew County will soon be welcoming students from around the world, and you could be part of the process.
The Renfrew County District School Board is working with student exchange organization YES Canada to bring students in from destinations like Japan, France, Australia, Germany, and China for a chance to study at high schools across the Ottawa Valley this upcoming school year.
Right now, the two sides are looking for families interested in hosting those students, providing a home away from home in a safe and nurturing environment that can establish lifelong friendships and connections.
YES Canada offers homestay durations between 2 and 10 months, which all come with a monthly stipend to cover hosting costs, as well as ongoing guidance and support throughout the student’s stay.
Interested families are being urged to connect with YES Canada ahead of September to learn more about the homestay program, either by calling 416-624-6200 ext. 410 or by email.
