Last-minute preparations are underway as Calabogie Motorsports Park gets ready for what might be the biggest car race to ever grace the Ottawa Valley.
Business Development Manager Cory Klinkenberg says NASCAR Canada’s debut race weekend is shaping up to be something special, as some top teams and a few local privateers have now had the chance to learn firsthand about the unique strategies needed to handle a road course that the series is hoping will be a staple of their schedule going forward.
Klinkenberg says work also continues on the fan side of the event, with the final pieces of temporary infrastructure being installed ahead of what is expected to be thousands of spectators dropping in for two days full of thrilling racing.
Those improvements include a massive upgrade to the general admission berm along the infamous quarry turn right before the finish line that will put fans right on top of the action.
The entire weekend has been booked to maximize the fan engagement, which Klinkenberg explains is a pillar of the NASCAR Canada experience. That includes a chance to explore the paddock and meet the drivers, plus evening entertainment and an intense set of side events that promise bumper-to-bumper action.
Tickets for general admission, RV and camping spaces, and the grandstands are still available but limited through the Calabogie Motorsports Park website.
