It’s a good idea to do your part to prevent drowning- especially during National Drowning Prevention Week, running until July 26th.
The campaign is led by the Lifesaving Society, and raises awareness about water safety and efforts to prevent drowning incidents.
Both local police and Renfrew County Paramedics are offering common sense safety tips this week, including staying within arm’s reach of young children near water; always swimming with a buddy; wearing lifejackets when boating and taking swimming lessons to learn lifesaving skills.
They urge everyone to work together to keep our community safe around water this summer.
