On the morning of July 8, 2025, just before 8:30 a.m., Lanark County OPP and emergency services responded to the intersection of Ann and Church Streets. A 34-year-old woman from Mississippi Mills Township had been hit by a large section of tree while walking.
She was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
On Sunday, July 13, police were notified that the woman had succumbed to her injuries.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing and is being conducted in partnership with the Office of the Chief Coroner.
Police have not released the name of the woman out of respect for her family.
Officers are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant information to contact Lanark County OPP.
