The group looking after crowdsourcing the public’s share of fixing up the Shawville arena has enjoyed a few recent successes.
The Pontiac Arena Fund has thanked the Logs End Mill for making them the recipient of the recent Logs End Invitational Golf Tournament, where they matched donations made by the public to hand the fund just over $6,000 towards the planned refurbishment of the six-decade-old facility.
They have also sent a shoutout to Killarney’s Bar and the Midnight Ramblers for a successful Barefoot Blue Jean Night that brought in another $1,700 towards their goal.
The fund has been active in the community over the past few months as they attempt to cover $700,000 of the project’s estimated $2 million price tag.
