Local police have shut down a large section of Highway 17 following reports that a pedestrian was struck in a Sunday afternoon collision.
The Renfrew OPP urged traffic to avoid the section of the highway from Pinnacle Road to Godfrey Road, between Renfrew and Haley Station, just after 2:30pm on Sunday following what they are calling a serious collision where one person suffered injuries.
A listener tip to myFM suggests that the person was walking along the highway at the time; however, police have yet to confirm that.
